First of all I want to warn you that there's a scary photo at the bottom of this post. It's a picture of my eyes after a reaction to products that I was using on my face. I don't normally take photos of things like this but I had hubby snap this shot when I woke up one morning and looked like something out of a horror movie. I knew that by the time that I got to the doctor and then was referred to a dermatologist that my messy eyes would have been mostly cleared up because I was not going to use anything on my face. As it turned out I was lucky enough to get in at a dermatologist the next day. He prescribed cortisone cream which made the condition worse. He also wanted to do allergy tests but I turned him down because I didn't want all of those needles and I kinda knew what was causing the reaction. It was chemicals in my face care products.
I stopped using the cortisone cream and did some online research. I found one company where nothing but natural things were used in their products. I bought them and used them and everything was fine. But then the company went out of business. I've spent the last 5 years looking for something that I could use. I've purchased so many things and each time I thought that I'd finally found the right thing. The products would be good for a bit and then I'd have a reaction. I gave up looking and started to use an emu soap and emu oil. The soap was ok. The oil sortof was. My eyes did react to it a bit but I still used it. I needed some sort of moisturizer but I found the oil very heavy on my skin. I was still using these things last week when my sister called and told me about a speaker she'd been to see. This speaker, Jessica, had started a skin care line that was totally natural. It's also:
- Biodegradable
- Cruelty-free and vegan

- Made in Canada

So, here goes:
Petal Purity Facial Cleanser
A rich, creamy cleanser that doesn't make your face feeltight or dry. It's so gentle that I can even use it on my
eyes. It cleanses and moisturizes and I absolutely love it!
Even my hands feel terrific after washing my face. I also
love the smell of it...very delicate and not overwhelming.
A rich but light cream. It's packed with all kinds of
good things to firm, improve elasticity and maintain a
youthful look. This is a concentrated product and I find
that I only need to use a little bit of it. I love the way
that it absorbs into my skin and doesn't make it greasy
looking.
Rich in anti-aging nutrients. I use this one before I use the
Rosey Cheeks although you can use it alone or mix it with
your moisturizer. You only need a little of this. It absorbs
well and leaves my skin looking so good. I've been using
it on my cuticles and heels too. Don't want them to get
old looking!
This one I'm really excited about. I've finally found an eye cream
that I can use! My eyes feel so great now that I can moisturize
them. It soothes tired eyes, hydrates and reduces puffiness and
dark circles. Who wouldn't love that?! Oh...and a little goes a
long way. Lots of bang for you buck in these products.
Wonderful, wonderful stuff!!! This isn't the only body lotion
that Cocoon has. There are 3 others and I aim to try every
one of them. This one smells so yummy - lemongrass, ylang
ylang and coconut. The scent is very subtle which I like. I love
the way it glides on and absorbs right into my skin leaving it so
soft and moisturized. This is a must try.
Those are the only products that I've bought so far. I'm going to be ordering the Orange Blossom Facial Toner, a Spotbuster Blemish Treatment, a Petal Purity Exfoliating Cleanser and one of Jessica's scents. Oh...and check out the skincare sets. I think that you save a bit by purchasing them.
So...that's it and all about it. Now for the scary photo:
Pretty bad, huh? Pretty sore too. This is why I'm so excited about Cocoon Apothecary products! This won't be happening to me again.
So...go shopping and enjoy!
Gail
